Spark Nation is the flagship education intervention of One Youth Global, designed for young leaders aged 13 to 18. It was conceived to provide a unique platform for emerging voices in special-need areas and communities to channel their talents toward sustainable peace, personal growth, and community development.2
The Mission: Reclaiming the Narrative
For over a decade, Nigeria has grappled with cycles of insecurity and violence. As noted in the 2022 BBC documentary on Nigerian insecurity, the root of this conflict often lies in inter-ethnic suspicion, stereotypical normativity, and a lack of meaningful dialogue.
Spark Nation is built on the understanding that while older generations may remain tethered to the tribal horrors of the past, a new generation is emerging. By tapping into this productive demographic, Spark Nation is evolving an alternative culture—one that chooses critical thinking and dialogue over the predilection toward violence.

By involving secondary school students in rigorous debate and quiz competitions, Spark Nation promotes critical thinking and educational development. We equip the next generation with the requisite skills to engage in productive, cross-border dialogues, ensuring they are prepared to lead in a post-MDGs era.
